Pawan Sharma

Founder. Transformation, AI and data

Pawan founded Hanaspark in 2013 and leads its transformation, AI and data practices.

He has 28 years' experience in technology, from leading large compliance technology teams in global banking to building and scaling start-ups. At Bank of America Merrill Lynch he headed Global Markets disclosures compliance technology, running regulatory projects worldwide and a technology team serving several hundred business users. Earlier he built the bank's EMEA business intelligence platform and its global reconciliations systems.

Since leaving banking he has been chief technology officer of a business mobile communications start-up, co-founder and CTO of a financial-services technology company, head of business intelligence for a UK managed-services provider, head of data analytics for a US software services company, and head of business systems for a UK fintech, where he ran the digital transformation programme that let the company scale without additional hires. He has also led the digital transformation programme of a UK defence technology services company, including AI-enabled automation of finance processes.

Over the last year his focus has been on using AI to transform business processes: implementing modern systems and using AI-assisted development to deliver enterprise-grade software at a pace that was not previously possible. He designed and built an enterprise costing system single-handedly in about eight weeks using this approach.

He holds a BTech in Electrical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra.

Marie Sartori

Cyber security and investigation (LampiaoCyber). Data and analytics

Marie leads LampiaoCyber, Hanaspark's cyber security and investigation practice, and works alongside Pawan on data, analytics and reporting.

She holds a Master of Cyber Security from Charles Sturt University and works across open-source intelligence (OSINT), threat intelligence, vulnerability assessment and penetration testing, aligned with the MITRE ATT&CK and OWASP frameworks. She has carried out OSINT engineering on cyber security and defence projects, building Python pipelines for entity extraction and knowledge-graph analysis, and conducts independent security research through bug bounty programmes and authorised training labs. Her research on the illicit use of cryptocurrency on the darknet was published by Springer in 2023. She holds UK security clearance.

Her work for clients is defensive and practical: helping individuals and small businesses understand their exposure, secure their devices, accounts and systems, and recover when something has gone wrong; investigating online harassment; and providing the online dimension of cases for private investigation firms. She is available for ad-hoc engagements as well as longer assignments.

Before specialising in security she spent more than twenty years as a database and business intelligence developer in financial services in Australia, the UK and the United States, including Merrill Lynch, Commerzbank, Investec, Tullett Prebon and asset-management firms, working with SQL Server, data warehousing, Power BI and Tableau. That background is why Hanaspark can offer analytics and reporting work from either principal.
